How and where can I use my Wave® Gift Card?

All you need to do is look at the different watersports available, either on this website or do your own research/you may have a club in mind; decide which one you want to use your gift card credit for, then email us at info@thewavegiftcard.co.uk, giving us as much info as you can about what you want to do, where you want to do it (geographical area), when you want to do it (please give us some notice - not "I want to go waterskiing in half an hour"!!) and include your contact details so we can get back to you!

But, I've never done any watersports before! Is it safe?

Please remember that none of us were born knowing how to sail, surf, waterski or whatever. If you are an absolute beginner this is an excellent time to use your Wave® Gift Card. All the centres have been chosen because of their membership of their respective Water Sports Association. This means their instructors are fully trained, they comply with the highest levels of health and safety and they are all fully insured.

What about a wet suit?  Equipment?  Life jackets?

All the centres have everything you need - all you have to take is swim wear, a towel for showering afterwards and some flip flops or crocs are good.  If you are going on a sailing boat then boat shoes/soft soled shoes will be required.  If you are going canoeing or kayaking then some old trainers you don't mind getting wet will be helpful (remember to take dry shoes for afterwards).

If you have your own kit then take that along too.  Life jackets are mandatory for all water sports participated in using The Wave® Gift Card and at all centres working with us.   The best swimmer in the World would struggle after falling into the water following a bash on the head ......

What do I get for my Gift Card?

Each Wave® Gift Card has a minimum of £20 value on it (lucky you if you have more!). This £20 is a great start towards getting you out on the water whether for a half day of surfing, a taster on a sailing boat or similar. However, once you understand, after talking to us (or going online for a centre you fancy using and doing your own research) what the different watersports centres offer in the way of courses to gain new skills or just to spend more time out on the water, we are sure you will want to put more money in yourself to maximize your experience. Remember your gift card can be the total you spend or it can be just a starting point!
